The Archives and Regional History Collections are moving this summer.

KALAMAZOO—The Archives and Regional History Collections will move to a new location later this fall. The anticipated opening of the Zhang Legacy Collections Center is mid-October 2013.  Preparation for the move will include changing hours of operation and modifying some processes.

The Archives and Regional History Collections in East Hall will have reduced research and instructional hours starting Wednesday, May 1, through Wednesday, July 31. Hours of operation will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Mondays by appointment. The University archives will be closed to all walk-in research and instructional services beginning Thursday, August 1.

Some materials may not be available during the packing and subsequent move to the new building. Full services at the Zhang Legacy Collections Center will commence in October 2013.

Departments wishing to send records to the University archives after Aug. 1 must make arrangements in advance. Those requesting materials from University Libraries Storage should continue to use the current process; however, materials in storage will be processed through the Resource Sharing department beginning Monday, April 29, through the facility relocation period. If you need materials during this period, contact Resource Sharing at Waldo Library at (269) 387-5172 or lib-rsc@wmich.edu. Fulfillment of requests may take longer than normal.

Call (269) 387-8490 for an appointment to view materials or arrange for instructional sessions, or to make arrangements to send records to the University archives after Aug. 1.
