KALAMAZOO—Western Michigan University's Health & Wellness Expo 2013 will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Student Recreation Center's indoor tennis courts. This free event welcomes WMU students, employees and retirees and offers them a way to learn about health and wellness resources available at WMU and in the community.

Health-related activities and food samples

Visitors will discover information about health services and topics from dental health, nutrition and physical therapy to insurance, safety, mental health and financial wellness. Activities will include chair massage, fitness equipment and product demonstrations, and employee health assessments. Several exhibitors will offer healthy food samples. Visitors will also receive a complimentary drawstring bag to gather information distributed at the event.

Insurance reps on hand to answer questions

Representatives from WMU's Human Resources office and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will be on hand to answer employee questions about benefits available to University employees. Students with questions about the newly created Affordable Care Act health care marketplace can speak with representatives from Michigan Consumers for Healthcare, who will also be at the expo.

Free parking will be available in Lot 13 and in the Ellsworth Parking Structure only.
