University Theatre presents 'Late Night Broadway'

KALAMAZOO—Western Michigan University musical theatre students will join Tony and Emmy award-winning vocalist Lillias White to give several performances of the "Late Night Broadway" cabaret show Dec. 5-7 in the Williams Theatre at the Gilmore Theatre Complex.

Lillias White

White has performed on Broadway in productions including "Dreamgirls," "Cats" and "Chicago." She won the Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards for her role in Cy Coleman’s "The Life." White’s television appearances include a regular role on Sesame Street, for which she won an Emmy Award. She has also appeared on Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU and NYPD Blue.

Under the direction of Jay Berkow, the all-student cast includes the graduating seniors of the Music Theatre Performance Program: Sean Buckley, Kellie Goddard, Katie Hume, Allison Hunt, Ellen Jenders, Lauren Kerbs, James Murray, Ashley Owens, Tia Pinson, Alexandra Plath, Colton Steele, Kevin Watson and Demitra Zaino. The stage manager is Bridget Williams.

All seating for "Late Night Broadway" at Williams Theatre is general admission. Tickets are $20, $18 for senior citizens and WMU employees, $5 for WMU students and $10 for all other students.
