World-class pianist to perform at WMU

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—World-class pianist Edisher Savitski will perform exhilarating works by Schumann, Haydn, Rachmaninoff, and Prokofiev at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Savitski has enjoyed critical acclaim throughout his career. In November 2007, he became first pianist to perform from his home in South Bend, Indiana on Yamaha Disklavier piano that was connected to another Disklavier piano in the Recital Hall of Yamaha Artist Services International in New York City, in an unprecedented live performance. Savitski is currently on the music faculty at Western Michigan University and Indiana University South Bend.
