WMU Symphony Orchestra features bassoon and horn soloists
KALAMAZOO, Mich.--The Western Michigan University Symphony Orchestra will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2 in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature WMU School of Music faculty members Wendy Rose, Bassoon, and Lin Foulk, Horn, as soloists in Franz Widerkehr’s Symphonie Concertante for horn and bassoon. Graduate assistant conductor Ahmed Anzaldua will lead the orchestra in Mozart’s Overture to his opera, Don Giovanni. The program will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F Major, Op. 68 - his only programmatic symphony, nicknamed "The Pastoral."
