Caution urged after armed robbery on campus
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—An armed robbery took place on the WMU campus Wednesday evening at about 9 p.m. between Sangren Hall and Sindecuse Health Center. No one was injured.
Two male students were approached by two black males who, after telling the students they did not want any trouble, revealed a revolver tucked in the waistband of the pants of one of the perpetrators. The students ran away, and the suspects left the scene in a dark-colored sedan with a roof rack. They took with them a red and black backpack belonging to one of the students.
The suspects are described as:
- An 18-to-20-year-old male with a dark complexion, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a blue University of Michigan windbreaker and jeans.
- A male with a lighter complexion, about 6 foot 1 inch tall, 190 pounds, wearing a gray hat, gray hoodie and dark pants.
Members of the campus community are asked to move about the campus with caution and not walk alone. Anyone with information about the suspects should call WMU's Department of Public Safety at (269) 387-5555.
