Miller Auditorium to celebrate the 'Magic of Motown'

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The unforgettable songs of the Motown era are coming back to Kalamazoo as "The Magic of Motown" comes to Miller Auditorium at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17.

The tribute spans more than a decade of Motown classics, among the most recognizable and culture-defining songs in pop music history. The show features smoothly-choreographed performances of the hallmark sounds of Detroit Motown and Philadelphia soul, backed by a seven-piece live band.

Audiences will take a stroll down memory lane as they relive, or experience for the first time, the incredible harmonies and smooth moves made famous by the Temptations, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind & Fire, James Brown, The Spinners, The O’Jays and more

"The Magic of Motown" at Miller Auditorium is part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series and is welcomed by Meijer. Tickets are on sale now and range from $35 to $55. A 15 percent discount is available to all WMU faculty and staff, and a 50 percent discount is available to WMU students. Discounted tickets may be purchased by phone or in person, and a valid Bronco ID is required at the time of pickup. Group discounts are available at (269) 387-2312.
