Student groups honor Michigan Marines killed in helicopter crash

A moment of silence will be observed at noon Wednesday, March 18.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Registered student organizations Broncos for Heroes and the Western Michigan University Student Veterans Association will be at the campus flagpoles from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, to offer members of the campus community an opportunity to honor three Michigan Marines killed March 10 during a training exercise off the Florida coast.

Students, faculty and staff members will be able to sign three banners—one for each of the three Michigan servicemen who lost their lives. The banners will be sent to the Marine unit. The unit, in turn, will present the to the families. The WMU groups will also honor those lost a moment of silence and the playing of Taps at noon.
