Fine arts students present original work

Who Killed Mr. Mason performance flier.

Performances of "Who Killed Mr. Mason?" are free and open to the public.

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University fine arts students Lasse Grunewald, Michael Hudson-Casanova and Emily Rayburn will stage two performances of the original production "Who Killed Mr. Mason?" at 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, in Studio B on the third floor of the Dalton Center. The performances are free and open to the public.

"Who Killed Mr. Mason?" is a collaborative project between music and dance that reveals a murder mystery that the audience must solve. As scenes unfold through music and dance and without the use of dialogue, the audience will be encouraged to pay attention to clues and will be shown who the real killer is as the story concludes.

Grunewald and Hudson-Casanova composed all of the music, and Rayburn created the choreography. The trio created all performance and production elements under the guidance of faculty members Andrew Rathbun and Megan Slayter, using funds from the Zupko Grant that was awarded through College of Fine Arts.
