Dunn re-elected to head MAC council
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University President John M. Dunn has been selected to fill a second two-year term as chair of the Mid-American Conference Council of Presidents.
The council is the governing body for the MAC and includes the presidents of all 12 universities in the conference.
Dunn has served on the Council of Presidents since he became WMU's eighth president in 2007. He was first elected chair of the body in 2013. In 2009, he led the council's extensive national search that resulted in the appointment of Jon A. Steinbrecher as MAC commissioner.
Steinbrecher's contract was extended for three additional years during the same 2015 spring meeting at which Dunn was re-appointed. This is his second contract extension.
