IT Lab Manager Racine dies, services planned

John W. Racine, a nearly 30-year employee of Western Michigan University, died suddenly July 21 at home in Schoolcraft. He was 53.

Racine was a supervisor of computer labs for the Office of Information Technology, managing student computing labs in the Bernhard Center and the University Computing Center. He also was the manager of the Multi-Purpose Enabling Technology Lab, which helps students use adaptive technology to complete course work and access the Web.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Services will be held at the same location at 11 a.m. Saturday.
