John D. Sheppard obituary

John D. Sheppard, professor emeritus in accountancy, died Oct. 15. He was 83. Sheppard retired in 1992 after 27 years of service.

He joined WMU as an assistant professor of accounting in 1965, and he became an associate professor of accounting in 1970. He earned a bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Missouri.

Services and remembrances

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, and a memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave.
