Informational sessions scheduled on proposed general education changes

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University faculty, students and staff have the opportunity to get information and ask questions about recommended changes to WMU’s general education curriculum.

The Faculty Senate's Ad Hoc Committee on General Education presented a new model to the full committee Dec. 3 which includes curricula combining skill development with content delivery and focus on increasing student engagement.

Schedule

The subcommittee will hold three brown bag sessions this month to provide a short summary of the proposed changes and answer questions.

  • Thursday, Jan. 14, noon to 2 p.m., 157-158 Bernhard Center.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 20, noon to  2 p.m., Humanities Center, 2500 Knauss Hall.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 26, noon to 2 p.m., Humanities Center, 2500 Knauss Hall.
