Fall residence hall sign-up begins
KALAMAZOO—Students planning to return to the residence halls for the 2016-17 academic year can begin the sign-up process for housing on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Residence Life has a variety of halls to choose from, and each one has something unique to offer with different room features, living options and learning communities.
In addition to the social and academic benefits of living on campus, students who choose to live in traditional residence halls can take advantage of hall activities, leadership opportunities, 24-hour staffing, a variety of on-campus dining choices and more.
Residence Life programs
- The VIP Bronco program through Residence Life offers free intramurals and fitness classes to students living in the residence halls.
- The Second-Year Experience learning community in French and Zimmerman halls focuses on common second-year issues and assists with internship guidance, studying abroad and networking with WMU alumni.
- The GPA Incentive is for students living in a single room next fall. Students with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher at the end of spring semester automatically get their single room at the lower double room rate. Students must have sophomore status or higher at the start of fall 2016 to be eligible for the GPA Incentive.

- Honors sections will be added within the existing Business, Engineering and Fine Arts learning communities.
- With the opening of the new Valley Dining Center, a meal plan will now be required in Harrison/Stinson hall. Going forward, the Valley hall with a no meal plan option will be Garneau/Harvey.
