WMU choirs to present choral showcase

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Three Western Michigan University choirs will present a winter choral showcase at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Collegiate Singers’ performance will include choral treasures such as Bruckner’s "Locus Iste," Finzi’s "My Spirit Sang All Day," and DeCormier’s arrangement of the spiritual "Let Me Fly." The set will also include two pieces for men’s and women’s choruses.

Cantus Femina’s set, titled "Relationships," explores diverse connections within the human experience and features works by Macdonald, Forsythe, and WMU alumnus Sam Alhadid, among others.

University Chorale’s set, "Height and Depth,” illustrates the symbolic and literal distances represented within music. The set will include works by Brahms, Finney, Hogan, Runestad, Howells and Gregorio.
