Daniel Tiger brings Mister Rogers' legacy to the stage

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The legacy of the beloved "Mister Rogers" lives on with the hit television series, "Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood," from The Fred Rogers Company and airing daily on PBS KIDS. Daniel and all of his friends have hopped aboard Trolley to delight live audiences with "Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live!," which is coming to Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 13.

Donning his iconic red sweater, Daniel invites the audience on an interactive musical adventure as he and his friends explore the vibrant world of their much-loved Neighborhood of Make-Believe, sharing stories of friendship, helping others, and celebrating new experiences.

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood tells its engaging stories about the life of a preschooler using musical strategies grounded in Fred Rogers’ landmark social-emotional curriculum. Through imagination, creativity and music, Daniel and his friends learn the key social skills necessary for school and for life.

The animated TV series has garnered a host of prestigious awards, and most recently was nominated for a 2015 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program. This recognition follows a string of additional honors, including a 2015 Parents’ Choice Gold Award.

"Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live!" at Miller Auditorium is part of the Lake Michigan Mailers Spotlight Series and is welcomed by Meijer, Seat n Sleep and Pepsi. Tickets are on sale now and range from $35 to $55. They can be purchased online at millerauditorium.com, by calling (269) 387-2300 or (800) 387-2312, or in person at the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office.

A 15 percent discount is available to all WMU faculty and staff. Group discounts are available at (269) 387-2312.

WMU students receive a 50 percent discount on most show tickets thanks to a fund established by the Office of the President. WMU students are limited to one discounted ticket per event with a valid Bronco Card. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office or by telephone at (269) 387-2300. WMU students are required to show their Bronco Card when picking up tickets and upon entrance to the theatre.
