Assessment in Action conference returns for 7th year

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants are invited to the seventh annual Assessment in Action conference, set for 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Fetzer Center. The conference is free of charge, but registration is required for the luncheon.

About the conference

Conference offerings will include two plenary sessions given by Dr. Julia Williams, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and Dr. Kathy Collins, Michigan State University, as well as four workshop sessions that are geared toward classroom- and program-level assessment of student learning strategies.

There will be opportunities to learn how to develop effective assessment tools and to find out more about assessment resources at WMU and beyond. Networking opportunities will also be provided, as will lunch for registered participants.

Conference participants are encouraged to attend any or all of the sessions and to feel free to come and go as their schedules permit.

The program will also include the announcement of the winners of the University Assessment Steering Committee Assessment Excellence Awards as well as a poster session that will highlight the assessment projects of the 2015-16 Assessment Fellows.
