Anthony A. Gioia obituary

Anthony A. Gioia, a former Western Michigan University faculty member, died Jan. 4. He was 81.

Gioia, of Augusta, Michigan, joined the WMU faculty in 1966 and retired in 1996 after 30 years of service to the University. He began his career at WMU as an associate professor of mathematics and retired as professor of mathematics. Before joining WMU, he was a Major in the U.S. Air Force-Strategic Air Command and taught mathematics at the University of Missouri and Texas Tech University.

Cremation was held, and there will be no service.
