University Theatre presents 'Big Love'

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University theatre students will perform "Big Love," a modern twist on a Greek tragedy March 18-26 in the Williams Theatre at the Gilmore Theatre Complex.

"Big Love" is a wild romp about 50 sisters who escape their home on their wedding night in order to be free of their old country, where marriage is contracted and love is unheard of. The wedding party embarks on a journey, searching for answers about the possibilities and impossibilities of love.

Directed by Department of Theatre Chair Joan Herrington, the all-student cast includes Sarah Taylor, Alex Karukas, Heather Zurowski, Alex Roggow, Alexa Robbins, Joe Sharkey, Jasmine Rose, Micah Hazel, Paige Larkowski, Curtis Elswick, Dan DuPraw, AC Quagliato and Imari Brown, with stage management by Amanda Calcutt.

A free cabaret featuring seniors of the music theatre performance program will follow the performances on March 19, 24, 25 and 26.

All seating for "Big Love" at Williams Theatre is general admission. Tickets are $20, $18 for senior citizens and WMU employees, $6 for WMU students and $10 for all other students.
