KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The premiere of a new work that will be performed later this year in New York's Lincoln Center is set for 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, in Western Michigan University’s Dalton Center Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

The work, "Golden Rule, Turing Test," was co-created by saxophonist Lucas Pino and WMU faculty member Jeremy Siskind. The piece, which will be officially premiered at New York’s Lincoln Center in June, explores how the nature of compassion is changing in the digital age.

The March 29 performance will feature the Advanced Jazz Ensemble and will be preceded by a question-and-answer period with Pino beginning at 7:30 p.m.
