Miller Auditorium stages first 'Kzoo Sings!' event

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Those who love to sing are invited to gather to perform some favorite songs in a casual and fun atmosphere from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There will be a small $5 cover charge, and a full cash bar and complimentary snacks will be provided.

"Kzoo Sings!" is a drop in, no-commitment singing event open to anyone who likes to sing new arrangements of pop songs. The event will be held once a month on Thursday nights, usually on Miller Auditorium's Grand Tier level. The inaugural event will focus on the Neil Diamond song, "Sweet Caroline."

Participants will get a lyric sheet and will join a high, mid or low vocal group. Together, the groups will master three-part harmonies for a pop song or two. Some sessions may be recorded.

No music reading ability is required and no auditions will be conducted. Participants are encouraged to listen to the song(s) that will be sung.
