University Theatre presents 'Romeo and Juliet'

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University theatre students will perform the Shakespeare tragedy "Romeo and Juliet" Oct. 7-16 in the Shaw Theatre at the Gilmore Theatre Complex.

  • Sunday, Oct. 16, 2 p.m.

This classic tale of the feuding families follows Romeo and Juliet who, despite their families’ differences, fall in love and are forced to make dangerous choices in order to be together. "Romeo and Juliet" is one of Shakespeare’s most celebrated and performed shows.

Directed by Benjamin Reigel, the all-student cast includes Courtney Green, Elizabeth Yamauchi, Aaron Rutherford, Alexa Robbins, Garret McCord, Bekah Mitton, Brian Wiegand, Connar Klock, Sarah Quigley, Joey Ureta, Steven Brauer, AC Quagliatio, Joey Huizar, Jack Kinson, Mitch Sowers, Micah Hazel, Alex Ruggow, Evan Lugo, Greg Jones, Asia Hicks, Brett Schaberg and Chris Koval, with stage management by Helena Baron.

All seating for "Romeo and Juliet" at Shaw Theatre is general admission. Tickets are $20, $18 for senior citizens and WMU employees, $6 for WMU students and $10 for all other students.
