What do employers want from their employees?
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—What employers want from their employees is the topic of three career-preparation workshops planned for Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 15-17, on the campus of Western Michigan University.
Dr. Dennison Bhola, vice president and senior director of research for HUMANeX Ventures, will speak to students about the professional world and what they'll need to be successful.
Workshops
The following sessions will take place in 2720 Sangren Hall.
- Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2 to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 16, 10 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 17, 1 to 2 p.m.
Dennison Bhola
Bhola has worked in the field of educational and psychological measurement for more than 25 years. His assessments and interviews have been used by Southwest Airlines, Caterpillar, Marriott, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, the Bank of Montreal and Disney. Locally, his instruments have been used by WMU, the WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, Stryker, Greenleaf Hospitality, Greenleaf Trust, KRESA and Southwest Michigan First.
HUMANeX studies employees in many jobs of different complexities in a wide variety of industries. These industries include healthcare, hospitality, education, finance, manufacturing and athletics.
The career-preparation workshops are sponsored by WMU's Career Counseling Program.
