New café open in Valley Dining Center

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University's newest café, Café 1903, is now open on the first floor of the Valley Dining Center on main campus, offering a comfortable atmosphere, lounge-style seating and a full-service coffee bar.

Café 1903 carries a wide variety of food, beverages and household goods perfect for Valley residents or visitors craving a hot drink or late-night snack.

The coffee bar is staffed with baristas ready to prepare signature fair trade and organic Western Grounds coffee, espresso drinks, hot tea and cocoa. Convenient food options include grab-and-go sandwiches, pizza, salads, vegetarian choices, hot soup, fruit, bagels, snacks and desserts perfect for light meals, snacks and healthy on-the-go dining. The café also offers cold fountain and bottled beverages.

Household essentials stocked at Café 1903 include cleaning and laundry supplies, toilet paper, beauty and personal care items, as well as general health and wellness products.

Guests may enter the café on the lower level of the Valley Dining Center through the doorways nearest the Goldsworth Valley Pond footbridge and walkway. A Bronco Transit stop is conveniently located nearby for quick access to campus.

Café 1903 hours

  • Monday through Thursday: 5 p.m. to midnight
  • Friday: 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday: closed
  • Sunday: 5 to 11 p.m.
