The Kontras Quartet and the Kruger Brothers

Kontras means contrasts in the Afrikaans language—fitting for a string ensemble whose colorful repertoire spans centuries, genres and continents. Their collaboration with the Kruger Brothers bridges the line between classical music and American folk while drawing on diverse musical traditions to create original, exciting, inspiring performances that speak to people from around the world. The Kruger Brothers were recently back in the studio with the Kontras Quartet to record their newest collaboration, "The Roan Mountain Suite," which is due out on CD later this spring.
