Oboist teams up with pianist, dancer and lighting designer for free concert

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Oboist Courtney Miller, in collaboration with pianist Minji Kwon, dancer Kristin Marrs and lighting designer Peggy Mead-Finizio, will present an evening of music and dance featuring works by J.S. Bach and Elliott Carter, as well as recently commissioned pieces by several leading Portuguese composers, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, in Western Michigan University’s Dalton Center Lecture Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Miller is assistant professor of oboe at the University of Iowa and has been hailed by Fanfare Magazine as "a performer of considerable skill, with an unfailingly lovely sound, abundant technical ability, and a special gift for turning notes into poetry."
