WMUK holds on-air fall membership drive
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—WMUK 102.1 FM will begin its fall 2017 on-air membership drive Friday, Sept. 8, and continue the annual event through Friday, Sept. 15.
WMUK has set a pledge goal of $175,000 over the course of the campaign. Listener contributions to WMUK financially support the production of award-winning local news and arts content, as well as popular National Public Radio programs such as "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered" and "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me!"
"WMUK remains a vital source of news, information and culture for the communities we serve in Kalamazoo and greater southwest Michigan," says Stephen Williams, WMUK general manager.
"Whether it's local news programming like 'WestSouthwest,' our regional arts coverage, or the quality NPR programs people love to tune in to, we know that people have come to rely on our station. But this kind of programming is also quite expensive, so listener support is as important as ever."
Win tickets
Contributors to WMUK's fall 2017 campaign will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets to see the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra present "Star Wars: A New Hope" in concert Thursday, Oct. 12, in Miller Auditorium.
