Trustees to consider 2018-19 apartment rental rates at December meeting
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—The Western Michigan University will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in 157-159 Bernhard Center on WMU's Main Campus.
Meeting in formal session, the board's agenda will include a resolution to set 2018-19 rental rates for campus apartments. The board also will consider a motion to dissolve the WMU Research Foundation and move its functions and activities into the University for greater efficiency. Another resolution the board will consider is to amend the bylaws and articles of incorporation of the WMU Foundation.
A major informational presentation to the board at the meeting will focus on the success of WMU's Foundation Scholars program. The program was launched in 2015 to offer $60,000 scholarships that are based on both high academic performance and financial need.
At the meeting, the board also will act on consent items that include reports on curricular changes, personnel moves, and gifts and grants recently received by the University. The consent item agenda also includes reports on operating cash accounts as well as annuity and life income funds.
