Tuition, budget for 2018-19 academic year top trustees' agenda

KALAMAZOO, Mich.— Meeting on Wednesday, June 27, the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees is expected to consider tuition rates and adoption of a general fund budget for the 2018-19 academic year.

Beginning at 11 a.m. in 157-159 Bernhard Center, the board will consider the administration's recommendation for tuition for both on-campus courses and those offered through Extended University Programs. The board is also expected to adopt a general fund operating budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1.

Other agenda items for the board meeting include the redemption of debt and transfer of a building and other personal property to the WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. In addition, the board also will consider a recommendation to approve a four-year contract with the University's Teaching Assistants Union.

Several other items round out the board agenda, including reports covering gifts, grants and personnel changes.
