Ruth E. (Kiel) Sparks, a retired custodian at Western Michigan University, died July 19. She was 77.
Sparks, of Portage, joined WMU's staff in 1980 and retired in 2003 after 22 years of service to the University. At the time of her retirement, she worked in the University's residence hall system.
