Gerald Carl Schwemmin, a former Western Michigan University controller, died Sept. 11. He was 88.
Schwemmin, of Sarasota, Florida, joined the WMU staff as an auditor in 1966, was an assistant controller and chief accountant and then controller. He retired in 1992 after 26 years of service to the University.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Weber's Restaurant in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
