KALAMAZOO, Mich.—As it accommodates safety precautions as a result of COVID-19, Metro bus service has modified its services in the Kalamazoo area, resulting in fewer stops to Western Michigan University's Parkview campus.
The Route 25-Parkview to WMU Parkview Campus will make pickups and drop-offs to Floyd Hall every 40 minutes Monday through Thursday, beginning at 6:45 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. (with final departure from Floyd Hall at 9:45 p.m.) and this Friday, Oct. 9, only until 9 p.m. (with final departure from Floyd Hall at 8:25 p.m.) Fridays thereafter will run 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with final departure from Floyd Hall at 5:45 p.m.)
WMU's Route 19-Ring Road will run Monday through Thursday with no changes, 8 a.m. until 9:55 p.m. and end earlier on Fridays at 5:55 p.m.
In addition, starting Monday, Oct. 12, Metro is stopping all other routes at 6 p.m. No Sunday service will be provided until further notice.
Riders should monitor changes to Metro’s schedule this week and for coming weeks. Specific route information including modified schedules and regular updates on public transportation is available here, through the myStop mobile app and Facebook.
Metro continues to thoroughly clean buses and requires passengers to wear masks that cover both nose and mouth, use hand sanitizer when boarding and socially distance while riding. Riders should use Metro only when essential at this time. For more information, contact Metro at (269) 337-8222.
