State of the University address set for April 5
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—President Edward Montgomery will deliver his 2021-22 State of the University address at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, in the Bernhard Center's North Ballroom. This will mark the first in-person State of the University address since the fall of 2019.
The president says he plans to explore "where we stand today and to discuss how our interconnected, forward-facing strategies are bringing together the best of what Western has to offer to meet the needs of 21st century students."
"At Western Michigan University, we have continued to prepare students for success, advance knowledge and demonstrate the immense value of this University to its community and world. Thanks to our collective efforts, we have built a solid foundation that will position us to face the future and rise to embrace new opportunities and overcome challenges.
"I’m looking forward to this opportunity for us to gather in person as I share how the initiatives that we have put in motion are making a difference that will resonate with students and society for generations to come."
Following the president's address, light refreshments will be served. For those unable to attend, the event will livestreamed.
