Oliver Street near campus closed Friday for Stadium Drive project

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Oliver Street at Stadium Drive and Ring Road S near Western Michigan University’s Main Campus will close for the day on Friday, Aug. 5, to accommodate road construction. View the detour map

The closure will allow for traffic signal work as part of the city of Kalamazoo’s Stadium Drive Project, which calls for reconstruction of the street from Howard to Lovell and is set to continue through October. A shared-use path will be added on the north side of the road, connecting the path added to Howard Street last year with the existing path at Oliver Street. This segment will help connect Western and Kalamazoo College and create a connection from West Main Street at Drake Road to downtown.
