WMU trustees to hold special virtual meeting Wednesday
KALAMAZOO, Mich.— During a special virtual meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees will consider economic compensation, health care benefit and insurance adjustments in the University's employee agreement with WMU's chapter of the American Association of University Professors (WMU-AAUP). The meeting will be livestreamed at wmich.edu/trustees.
The board’s consideration follows a tentative agreement reached in early October by negotiators for the WMU administration and the WMU-AAUP. The tentative agreement was later ratified by the union’s membership and is now before trustees.
The proposed adjustments trustees will consider Wednesday include a retroactive 4% wage increase for 2024-25 and a 3.25% wage increase for 2025-26. The adjustment also calls for a one-time payment of $1,000 to be provided in 2025-26.
For additional details, find the board's full agenda online.
Contact Dr. Kahler Schuemann by 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 15, to address the board during public comment.
