WMU celebrates fall 2024 graduates at Dec. 14 commencement
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University will award over 800 bachelor’s degrees, more than 250 master’s degrees and over 60 doctoral degrees during its commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Graduates come from 36 countries, including the United States, and will participate in one of two ceremonies at Miller Auditorium:
- 9 a.m. – College of Education and Human Development, Haworth College of Business, Merze Tate College and College of Fine Arts
- Noon – College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Health and Human Services, and College of Aviation
Along with the conferring of degrees, President Edward Montgomery will deliver a speech. The event will also feature vignettes on graduate success and a special tribute to the graduates.
All guests, including family members and children of any age, must have a ticket to enter Miller Auditorium. Seating is limited and available on a general admission basis.
New this academic year, guests who would like to view the ceremony on a large screen in Brown Hall also need tickets to do so. Tickets for the Extended Family and Friends Livestream Lounge will be available for reservation by graduates on a first-come, first-served basis until Friday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m. Email Margot Allemand to reserve your tickets for the Livestream Lounge. Indicate the number of tickets you need, up to four, and specify which ceremony your guests will attend. Once your reservation is fulfilled, you will receive a confirmation email.

WMU holds formal graduation ceremonies after the fall and spring semesters, as well as the summer I session, although students can also graduate following the summer II session.
