The membership of the chapter includes:

  • Charter Members: the Phi Beta Kappa members of the faculty to whom the charter was granted
  • Resident Members: members of Phi Beta Kappa who are members of the faculty or staff of Western Michigan University
  • Members in Course: all members of the chapter elected as undergraduates or as graduate students
  • Alumni/ae Members: graduates of Western Michigan University elected in recognition of scholarly achievement after graduation (listed with Members in Course)
  • Honorary Members: non-graduates of Western Michigan University chosen on the same basis as alumni members (listed with Resident Members)
