Consistent with the average reported by the Sales Education Foundation, more than 96 percent of WMU sales and business marketing graduates find full-time careers in their field within three months of graduation and report 100 percent satisfaction in those jobs. The WMU sales program is regularly lauded for its achievements in a number of areas. Jim Tripp obituary

Tripp, a painter/glazier in the maintenance services unit, initially joined the staff in 2001 and had given 14 years of near-continuous service to the University. Survivors include his longtime companion, Pam McMakin, a WMU retiree. He loved his WMU job and took great pride in his work at the University, but his health required him to stop working in 2014 while awaiting an organ transplant. The Kalamazoo native is remembered as a family man and an energetic as well as a caring person.

Marsh says the field of executive compensation is facing many unique challenges with new Securities and Exchange Commission rules and the highly public nature of executive compensation. So what path led Marsh to the General Motors position? “I approached all the jobs I have held by focusing on what I can learn to achieve the position I wanted down the road,” says Marsh. For Marsh, looking ahead took him from intern to his current role in executive compensation at GM.

Vector Works—Students will be introduced to Vectorworks and experiment with 3 dimensional modeling. Basic tools will be covered as well as modeling and texturing approaches. Introduction to Costumes—Students will learn about all of the different jobs and personnel that are part of creating a finished costume. Scenic Painting Techniques—An introduction to marbling and wood graining techniques. Students will learn how to achieve a basic marble for floors and walls.

In Mali, he built basic water and sanitation infrastructure for a year and then, as part of his assignment, did some computer programming work for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Over those two years, he found the Peace Corps slogan to be true—"it really is 'the toughest job you'll ever love.'" And though he was directly helping people, as desired, it wasn't exactly science, his first love. He needed to satisfy an insatiable inkling to marry two inclinations.
