Trustee Lisa Williams is the principal at The School at Marygrove in the Detroit Public Schools Community District, with over 20 years in education. She began as a high school English teacher and held leadership roles in Ferndale Public Schools and the Van Dyke Public School District. Trustee Williams also served as a school improvement consultant at Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency. She is a trustee on the Minerva Education Development Foundation Board, a member of the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, and Vice President of the WMU Alumni Association.

Trustee Williams holds bachelor's and master's degrees in secondary education and educational leadership from Western Michigan University. She received the Golden Apple Award from WMU's College of Education and Human Development in 2013. Lisa is the proud mother of two sons, Deonte Roberts and Jordan Williams, B.S. '21. Her favorite book is The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom by Don Miguel Ruiz, and she defines success in one word: "Fulfilled."
