Fall into the Streets

Fall into the Streets is an annual event during which WMU students, faculty, and staff are invited to signup and volunteer at sites all across Kalamazoo. This year we will have volunteer activities on Friday, October 3, Saturday the 4th, and Sunday the 5th!

Sign up for each activity/site will be conducted through ExperienceWMU - click on the specific events below to be directed to the RSVP page. Once redirected, students, faculty, and staff will need to sign-in to RSVP. Spaces at some locations are limited, so check it out and sign up early!!

Linden Grove Middle School Science Labs

If you enjoy kids and experiments, come join us for big fun at Linden Grove Middle School for an afternoon of science experiments and fun! Times may be adjusted slightly to fit classes at Linden Grove.

Boys and Girls Club Douglass Community Center

We're keeping kids busy and engaged! Come play games, do origami, and join in for arts and crafts!

Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes

Help us keep our food pantry welcoming and inviting as we prepare our grounds for winter! We need volunteers to help us clean up our grounds now so we are ready for planting in the spring.

Kalamazoo City Parks and Rec City Cleanup

Do you enjoy going to the park? Driving roads that aren't flooded? Come out and help Kalamazoo City Parks and Rec with park and drain cleanups; meet at South and Lovell Streets by the Kalamazoo Public Museum. All protective gear will be provided.

Edison Neighborhood Association

Come on out and help us keep our green space green!! The Edison Neighborhood Association will be coordinating a clean up at the underutilized green space located at the cross section of Washington Ave and Cameron St. The green space will be activated the following weekend as part of our Art and Culture Crawl. This clean up is part of our ongoing efforts to keep the space vibrant throughout the year, which helps to deter dumping and increase neighborhood pride overall.

Kalamazoo Literacy Coucil Community Garden

Love community gardens? Think literacy is important to all? Come help us prepare our community garden for our upcoming harvest festival later in October!!

Stuart Historical Neighborhood Home Tour

Would you like to tour some of the beautiful historic homes in the Stuart Neighborhood? Volunteer for a three-hour shift as a greeter for the homes tour and receive a complimentary ticket to the event. Tour headquarters is located at Woodward Elementary School.

ARK shelter for kids and bring your painting clothes

The ARK of Kalamazoo provides crisis/emergency housing for kids 11-17 years of age. To keep our temporary home a "homey" space, please come and help us do some indoor painting and shampooing our furniture--no experience necessary. Pick a time that works for you!! We're here all day!
