The Haenicke Institute for Global Education recognizes and thanks the 47 dedicated faculty, staff and graduate student leaders who led study abroad programming during the ‘24–’25 academic year.   

WMU Study Abroad supported 30 faculty-led programs last year, with travel to 22 different countries across six continents. A total of 411 students participated in faculty-led trips.

The College of Education and Human Development will be hosting Dr. Gerald Juhnke for the keynote event,  WMU CEHD's and the Greater Kalamazoo Community's storied history: continuing our synergetic, post-pandemic journey together.

A licensed professional counselor, Dr. Juhnke has over three decades of clinical, supervisory, and academic experience in diverse settings. WMU students, staff, faculty and the Kalamazoo community are invited to attend. 

Note: There will be a one hour reception followed by keynote address.

West Hills Athletic Club has opened its doors to the expansion of its facilities for pickleball: A new 13-court dedicated indoor and one outdoor court facility on the north side of the club’s building. Construction of the 37,000-square-foot facility was largely made possible by a generous contribution from Ruth and Mike Stoddard.

Welcoming our new students to campus is a WMU community event. We invite you to lend a hand by helping new students move into the residence halls Aug. 21-23, 2025. Assistance is needed with moving belongings, greeting students and families, and providing directions. Visit the Bronco Move-in Form to indicate your preferred area of campus and shift times. Sign up closes Aug. 15.

WMU employees receive excellent benefits from the University and are encouraged to pursue educational opportunities. Sign up for an in-person informational session hosted by the WMU Graduate College to learn more about graduate program options, including application deadlines and requirements. Sessions will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Graduate College (West Walwood Hall, East Campus, parking lot #1). If there is no registration, the session will be canceled that month, so be sure to register in advance!

The Board of Trustees approved the tuition and fees for the 2025-26 academic year. These rates have been updated and are located on financial aid's cost of attendance webpage. Please note, federal regulation mandates that universities post cost of attendance and tuition and fees in a single, accessible location. For reference to this, please utilize this webpage.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in a free shredding event Friday, September 26, to ensure professional or personal documents and media containing sensitive data are properly destroyed and recycled.  The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until the truck is full) in Lot 41 near Sangren Hall.  Data Guardian staff will remove your items once you pull up to their truck.  All plastic and metal must be removed.  No more than 15 boxes can be accepted. CDs, DVDs, VHS and floppy disks will also be accepted but must be placed in a separate container.  No hard drives will be accepted.  For disposal of hard drives, please contact WMU Surplus.  In prior events, the truck has filled up, so only documents…
