Free Shred Event
Posted by Joan Beffel on May 1, 2025Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in a free shredding event Friday, September 26, to ensure professional or personal documents and media containing sensitive data are properly destroyed and recycled. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until the truck is full) in Lot 41 near Sangren Hall. Data Guardian staff will remove your items once you pull up to their truck. All plastic and metal must be removed. No more than 15 boxes can be accepted. CDs, DVDs, VHS and floppy disks will also be accepted but must be placed in a separate container. No hard drives will be accepted. For disposal of hard drives, please contact WMU Surplus. In prior events, the truck has filled up, so only documents containing sensitive data will be accepted.
