Haenicke Institute for Global Education

With a long history of international involvement, WMU currently enrolls nearly 2,100 international students representing more than 90 countries (fall 2023 enrollment). The Haenicke Institute for Global Education (HIGE) offers a variety of program options that support and bring international students, faculty and professionals to Western.

LBGT Student Services

We help ensure the campus climate at WMU is one that affirms and supports the academic and personal development of all students inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. Looking for gender-inclusive housing? We support a Living Learning Community located in Britton Hall, the Spectrum House, where students of all gender identities and sexual orientations, including or inclusive of allies, can live and learn together.
