Computer Science Ph.D. Program Dismissal Policy
Dismissal from the Computer Science Ph.D. program
The milestones of the Ph.D. Program are:
- Qualifiers
- Completion of the CS 7350 Graduate Research
- Preliminary exam
If a student fails to pass any of the milestones in a timely manner, the student will be put on a probation. In the case of failing a qualifier, it must be passed within one year since the failure. In the case of the other two milestones, they must be passed during the next full-length semester after the failure.
A second failure for the same milestone will result in a dismissal from the Ph.D. Program.
