Presidential Scholar in Finance and Commercial Law

Allison Anker standing outside Sangren Hall wearing a black suit and red blouseAllison Anker is from Lake Orion, Michigan, and is a graduate of Lake Orion High School. She is majoring in business law with minors in general business and political science, and expects to graduate in April 2022. Following graduation, Allison will be attending the University of Michigan Law School with an anticipated graduation in spring of 2025. Allison hopes to work at the intersection of business and law, as a transactional lawyer for a large law firm in Chicago or on the East Coast. She has completed an internship through WMU’s Capital Internship Program and an externship through the Business Externship Program. She has served as a student ambassador and an orientation leader for the Office of Student Transitions. She has also worked as a fellow for the 60th District Service Office of State Representative Julie Rogers. Allison has held leadership positions with several student organizations, including Delta Sigma Pi and the Western Student Association. She also founded the new student organization, Women’s Business Network. She has committed volunteer hours to Milwood Middle School and was an Alternative Bronco Breaks volunteer, where she worked on environmental relief for Safe Harbor Women’s Shelter and Habitat for Humanity. Allison is a member of the Lee Honors College.
