As a food marketing major, you have access to one of the largest pools of scholarship dollars at WMU. With more than $100,000 awarded annually, you can fund your education, your career and your future! Western scholarships are based on academic record and financial need.

Food marketing scholarships

Abbott Nutrition gives one scholarship each year as a Silver Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference. 

Advantage Solutions/Daymon gives three scholarships each year as a Priority Access Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

Aunt Millie's gives one scholarship each year as a Silver Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference. 

This gift was made by the Gerber Foundation in honor of Sid Brooks.

C.A. Carlin gives one scholarship each year as a Silver Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference. 

This scholarship was established in 1989. Wendell Christoff is a 1968 graduate of WMU.

Circana (IRI) gives two scholarships each year as a Gold Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

Coca-Cola gives two scholarships each year as a Gold Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

Constellation Brands gives three scholarships each year as a Priority Access Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

E.& J. Gallo Winery gives two scholarships each year as a Gold Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

This scholarship was a gift from Mark Feldpausch in his family's name in agreement with SpartanNash.

Dr. Frank Gambino, B.S.'77, Ed.D.'93, was the food marketing program director from 2002 to 2022 and served as a faculty member from 1984 to 2022. He received the program's Adrian Trimpe Distinguished Service Award in 2022.

William Haynes was a food marketing faculty member from 1959 to 1984.

The Hershey Company gives two scholarships each year as a Gold Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

Hormel Foods makes an annual gift to fund a scholarship each year. Hormel Foods also gives two scholarships each year as a Platinum Plus Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

The J.M. Smucker Company gives two scholarships each year as a Platinum Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

KeHe gives two scholarships each year as a Platinum Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

Julius Kravitz was chair of the board of First National Supermarkets, located in Cleveland, Ohio. This scholarship was established in 1979.

The Michigan Grocers Foundation Board made this gift, supporting the Paul M. Felice Memorial Scholarship Program. Felice was a former chair of the Michigan Grocers Association.

Richard Neschich was a food marketing faculty member from 1964 to 1991.

Bob Samples was a faculty member in the food marketing program from 2014 to 2023, serving as an executive-in-residence. Prior to joining WMU, he spent 30 years at Hormel Foods. He received the program's Adrian Trimpe Distinguished Service Award in 2023.

SpartanNash gives two scholarships each year as a Platinum Plus Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

Phil Straniero was executive-in-residence and faculty member from 2003 to 2017. Prior to joining WMU, he spent 30 years at The Kellogg Company. He was a member of the food marketing program's advisory board for many years.

Unilever gives two scholarships each year as a Gold Sponsor of the Food Marketing Conference.

This scholarship honors Valentine Buckham.

A 1996 alum of WMU, Weller has held positions at both Walmart and Sam's Club. He was the 2017 Food Marketing Outstanding Alumni Award recipient.
