The program provides scholarships, campus coaching, year-round housing, and academic and personal support to promote student success and well-being.

Seita Scholars persist and graduate at higher rates than the national average for youth with foster care experience in higher education.

4. Founded on Lived Experience and Research
The program was inspired by Dr. John Seita, a Western Michigan University alumnus and former foster youth, whose work and lived experience continue to inform the program’s mission and approach.
