Year 4 Assurance Review

Western Michigan University successfully completed its virtual Year 4 Assurance Review by the Higher Learning Commission in spring 2025.

Summer 2025: Year 4 Assurance Review Completed

WMU has successfully completed its 2025 four-year Assurance Review with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), and has been reaffirmed as continuing to meet all criteria for accreditation with no monitoring or conditions. The Year 4 Assurance Argument along with supportive evidence documents, covering the period from 2021-spring 2025, was submitted in March 2025 and reviewed by an HLC peer review team.

This achievement reflects a year-long collaborative effort by the Year 4 Assurance Committee and a dedicated core team---along with contributions from more than 60 colleagues and contributors across the campus community

Spring 2025: Year 4 Assurance Review

Western Michigan University will undergo a virtual assurance review by the Higher Learning Commission in March, 2025. Institutions in Year 4 of the Open Pathway undergo a virtual assurance review as part of the broader comprehensive evaluation that occurs in year 10, to demonstrate that they are continue to be in compliance with the HLC's criteria for accreditation (Higher Learning Commission, 2023).
