Bio:

Christine Hassing is a Faculty Specialist who has been given the opportunity to return to her college beginnings where she was once an undergraduate earning a Bachelor of Science at WMU, completing her BS in 1990. Christine’s educational experiences with various faculty were the steppingstones to her professional career that included sixteen differing supply chain and leadership roles in a pharmaceutical organization, membership on school and hospital boards, a published author, and a self-employed consultant across the globe providing mentorship and training to strengthen leadership emotional intelligence and wellbeing skills.  Focus included relationship centered skills in virtual and in-person environments, how to coach vs command teams, resiliency, and thriving through stress. Additional self-employment has included designing and facilitating training workshops for a variety of audiences in person and virtually in the art of listening, the healing power of nature, and the power of writing on one’s well-being journey.

In 2024, Ms. Hassing began teaching as an adjunct faculty member at Western Michigan University and joined WMU’s Holistic Health and Contemplative Well-Being program in 2025. Students feeling seen, heard, and that they matter as well as aiding students in discovering and gathering wellbeing tools for their professional and personal wholeness so that they can thrive in their lives are two primary compass points that guide how Ms. Hassing facilitates her classes.

Ms. Hassing earned her Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership with a focus on servant leadership from Gonzaga University in 2018.
