I chose WMU partly because I knew a lot of the professors here from field trips I had taken with my school, but also because I knew WMU had a good engineering program as I will be a third-generation Bronco engineer.

Our Alumni
When you attend Western Michigan University to pursue a degree in industrial and entrepreneurial engineering or engineering management, you will join a growing group of alumni who are impacting our field and advancing technology in many industries.
Alumni such as William Denton, B.S.’67 who is now retired from Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company, where he served as chairman. Throughout Denton’s career, he held multiple president and vice president positions for various organizations. Denton spent 25 years with Newell Rubbermaid in senior executive roles including president, vice president, controller and more. He then served as president and CEO of Fiskars Brands, a global manufacturer and marketer of consumer products before joining Knape & Vogt in 2007. Denton received a College of Engineering and Applied Sciences Alumni Excellence Award in 2024.
